It’s official—only five days to go before overseas Filipinos make history by participating in the first-ever internet voting in the Philippines!
The Commission on Elections (COMELEC), through its Office for Overseas Voting, has released a countdown poster reminding voters that the overseas voting period will begin on April 13, 2025, at 8:00 AM (time of the host country).
This year’s overseas voting marks a historic milestone as Filipinos abroad will, for the first time, be able to cast their votes online, thanks to COMELEC’s push for modernization under the 2025 MakaBAGONG Halalan campaign.
To vote, qualified overseas voters must complete the pre-voting enrollment and access the Online Voting and Counting System (OVCS) via the official portal: https://ov.comelec.gov.ph/vote or by scanning the QR code provided in the poster.
The internet voting period will run until May 12, 2025.
COMELEC reminds all overseas Filipinos to prepare and ensure their credentials are ready before the voting opens. This move aims to make voting more accessible for the estimated 1.3 million registered Filipino voters abroad, giving them a more convenient way to exercise their right to vote.
