3,602 OFWs, families benefit from DOTr free train rides on third day

A total of 3,602 overseas Filipino workers and their family members availed themselves of complimentary train rides on Tuesday, December 16, as the Department of Transportation continued its holiday transport initiative.

The turnout was recorded on the third day of the agency’s “12 Days of Christmas” program, which offers free travel on major rail lines during the festive season. The scheme covers Light Rail Transit Line 1, Light Rail Transit Line 2, and Metro Rail Transit Line 3.

The holiday ride program began on December 14 and is scheduled to run through December 25, providing daily access to free train services for selected groups.

The DOTr said the offer will remain in effect on Wednesday, December 17, with government employees set to benefit from free rides across the participating rail systems.
