The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) has opened 33 new parks in Mohamed bin Zayed City, providing residents with more recreational spaces to promote a healthier and more connected community.
Designed to cater to diverse needs, the parks feature picnic areas, shaded seating, children’s play zones, fitness spaces, jogging tracks, and sports courts for paddle, basketball, volleyball, and badminton. Multi-Use Game Areas (MUGA) and accessibility features for People of Determination ensure inclusivity for all visitors.
Hamada Al Hashemi, Director of the Urban Design Division at DMT, emphasized the importance of these new green spaces in fostering active lifestyles and social interaction. “We are proud to open these public hubs that encourage active, healthy living and serve as communal spaces for fitness, leisure, and connection,” he said.
The initiative is part of DMT’s broader efforts to enhance community well-being by developing dynamic and accessible public spaces throughout Abu Dhabi.
