A three-year-old boy, Lucas Orongan, tragically lost his life after falling into a sewer in Barangay 176, Caloocan, on Saturday afternoon.
The boy was walking with his siblings, ages six, five, and four, when he accidentally fell through an opening in the sidewalk around 3 p.m.
Heavy rains had intensified the water currents in the sewer, which swiftly carried Orongan away.
Despite hours of rigorous searching by rescue workers, the young boy was found dead in Acco Homes shortly before 3 p.m. on Sunday, Caloocan City public information officer Princess Garcia confirmed to The STAR.
