The Brazilian music community mourns the loss of the young and talented Forro singer Darlyn Morais, who passed away at the age of 28 following a spider bite. Darlyn’s sudden demise occurred on Monday after a week-long battle with complications arising from the bite.
According to Jhullyenny Lisboa, the bereaved wife of Darlyn, the incident also affected their family directly, resulting in the hospitalization of Darlyn’s 18-year-old stepdaughter. She is currently in stable condition after suffering multiple spider bites at their home in Miranorte.
The ordeal began when Darlyn experienced severe fatigue and a darkening at the bite site, leading the family to seek immediate medical attention. Initially thought to be an allergic reaction, Darlyn was treated and discharged on November 3rd. However, his condition deteriorated, necessitating urgent readmission to Palmas General Hospital on Sunday. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, Darlyn was pronounced dead the following day.
Authorities and experts are diligently working to uncover the precise cause of death. The State Department of Health is still investigating, while there remains uncertainty about the spider species involved. Meanwhile, specialists from the Butantan Institute have indicated that the bite symptoms do not align with typical spider envenomation, advising the public to await an official report for a conclusive diagnosis.
In remembrance of Darlyn, his family shared a heartfelt message on his Instagram, extending their gratitude to his fans for their support and confirming that his brother Juninho Morais will continue to manage the singer’s account.
