28 distressed OFWs in Doha receive P1.6M aid through DMW AKSYON Fund

Twenty-eight overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Doha received a combined P1.6 million in financial aid under the DMW AKSYON Fund, as part of the Philippine government’s continuing efforts to support nationals facing dire circumstances abroad.

The recipients include cancer patients, OFWs battling serious illnesses, individuals with pending legal cases, and those currently taking refuge at the Bahay Kalinga shelter.

Leading the distribution were Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Undersecretary Jainal T. Rasul Jr. and Labor Attaché Eduard Ferrer, who emphasized the government’s commitment to stand by distressed Filipinos overseas.

“Makakaasa po kayo na tutulong kami sa abot ng aming makakaya — hindi lamang pinansyal kundi emosyonal din. Huwag po kayong mag-atubiling lumapit o tumawag sa aming tanggapan. Hindi po kayo nag-iisa; kasama ninyo kami sa laban,” Ferrer assured.

The DMW AKSYON Fund offers a range of assistance programs, including legal and medical aid, repatriation, and other emergency services, with the goal of safeguarding the welfare and dignity of OFWs in crisis situations.
