Dubai Police have impounded 23 cars and three motorbikes in the Al Khawaneej area for generating excessive noise and disturbances due to unauthorized modifications. The operation, conducted within a 24-hour period, was part of efforts to maintain public peace, officials announced on Friday.
Maj-Gen Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, head of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, highlighted that 24 traffic fines were issued against the violators. He pointed out that the cost to release an impounded vehicle could reach up to Dh10,000.
He advised against the installation of devices that increase engine noise, noting the risk they pose to residential areas. He also stressed that reckless driving endangers lives, impacts public safety, and can damage road infrastructure.
Maj-Gen Al Mazrouei encouraged residents to report such violations through the ‘Police Eye’ or ‘We Are All Police’ services on the Dubai Police app or by calling 901. He also urged the public to support the ‘A Safe Road for Everyone’ campaign by promoting safe driving practices.
