24-year-old man dies after being stabbed over stolen longganisa in Tondo, Manila

A 24-year-old man, identified as Jester Mullet, was fatally stabbed in Tondo, Manila, following a dispute over stolen longganisa. The incident, captured by CCTV, shows Mullet being chased and stabbed three times in the back by the suspect last Sunday in Barangay 128.

Despite being wounded, Mullet managed to run and board a tricycle but collapsed while transferring to another vehicle. According to the police, he was declared dead at the scene.

Police Captain Dennis Turla, head of the Homicide Division of the Manila Police District, explained that the conflict started over a longganisa theft that had enraged Mullet. “The suspect had stolen longganisa belonging to a barangay official, which led to a fight when Mullet saw him. This started their bad blood,” Turla said.

Further complicating the matter, Kagawad Diego Valencia of Barangay 128 disclosed that both individuals were previously involved in selling the stolen goods. “The victim had assaulted the suspect out of anger, which worsened their relationship and led to the tragic outcome,” Valencia noted.

The suspect admitted to the crime, asserting that the longganisa was stolen and sold to him by Mullet. He also expressed regret for his actions. Mullet’s family is devastated, with his sister Jaycel and mother Maricel demanding justice.

The suspect is now facing a murder charge and is detained at the Manila Police District.
