Four Gulf residents from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, and Oman have each clinched the prize of Dh100,000 in the Big Ticket e-draw held last month.
Each recipient, two from India and two from Pakistan, disclosed their delightful surprises and future plans after discovering their wins in the final week of August.
Oman resident Vinod Kumar, a dedicated father to two daughters and a mechanic hailing from Kerala, shared his two-year journey of consistently buying raffle tickets with a group of friends. Kumar revealed a change in strategy this time, choosing a ticket randomly without paying attention to the numbers, a move that ultimately secured him the win. Overjoyed, Kumar plans to surprise his daughters with gifts, encouraging others with a hopeful message to “try, try, try, and one day you will win.”
Joining the winners’ circle is 30-year-old Sayed Muhammad, a hospital driver in Abu Dhabi and a father of four. Muhammad, who had a hunch that the number 55 would bring him luck, intends to invest his winnings in a business to support his family, nurturing the dream to someday win the grand prize to reunite with his family in the UAE.
35-year-old mechanical engineer Sabareesh Jyothivel, who resides in Sharjah, expressed his happiness from Thailand where he is vacationing with his family. For almost his entire eight-year tenure in the UAE, Jyothivel participated in the Big Ticket raffle alongside friends. This year, he ventured alone, a decision that now allows him to claim the entire prize amount, paving the way to secure his future.
Completing the quartet of fortunate individuals is Inayat Ullah Abdul Janan, a 43-year-old father of six based in Dubai. Working as a driver for a private company, Janan was inspired to try his luck in the raffle ever since his cousin bagged a grand prize of Dh20 million. Awakening to the joyous news from his roommate, an exhilarated Janan confirmed the win on the official website, harboring plans to invest in property in Pakistan for his children’s future.
