Believed to be Laylat Al Qadr or the Night of Power, this occasion holds profound significance in the Islamic calendar as one of its holiest nights. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) indicated its occurrence within the last 10 nights of Ramadan, particularly on an odd-numbered night, commemorating the revelation of the first verses of the Quran.
The streets leading to Masjid Al Haram were bustling since the early hours of Friday as worshippers streamed towards the holy site to observe Isha, Taraweeh, and Qiyamul Layl prayers. Led by Sheikh Sudais, the Imam of Masjid Al Haram, the prayers were accompanied by special supplications.

With an emphasis on convenience and safety, the mosque authorities had made extensive arrangements. The tawaf capacity was expanded, copies of the Quran in multiple languages were made available, and meticulous cleaning, ventilation, and air conditioning were maintained. Additionally, the introduction of 5,000 golf carts linked through the “Tanaqol” app facilitated smooth movement within the mosque premises.
Stringent disinfection measures, stationed supervisors at entrances, and careful guidance of worshippers were implemented to ensure a seamless experience, allowing for safe entry, exit, and access to prayer areas. Images and videos capturing the overflowing grand mosque and its surrounding areas have been widely shared on social media platforms, reflecting the magnitude of the spiritual gathering.
