17-year-old Filipino achieves 3rd runner up in 27th Dubai International Holy Quran Contest

A 17-year-old from Cotabato, Philippines has secured the third runner-up position at the 27th Dubai International Holy Quran Contest, which concluded on March 24, 2024. Representing the Philippines with pride, Muzaher Suweb Bito participated in the prestigious competition held at the Culture and Science Symposium in Al Mamzar, Dubai, from March 12–24, under the auspices of the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

The event saw participation from six contestants representing different countries, showcasing their profound understanding and recitation skills of the Holy Quran. The Government of Dubai organized this annual contest with the aim of fostering a deeper appreciation, understanding, and adherence to Quranic teachings among the youth.

Bito hails from Old Maganoy, Datu Abdullah Sangki, Maguindanao del Sur, a region known for its rich cultural and religious heritage. His journey reflects the educational commitment in his community, being an elementary graduate of Dimampao Elementary School, Datu Abdullah Sangki, Maguindanao del Sur, Batch 2022, and currently studying at Markadz Ebrahim, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte. His parents, both Islamic and Arabic Language (ISAL) Teachers at Dimampao Elementary School, have undoubtedly played a significant role in his religious education and upbringing.

Celebrating this remarkable achievement, the Bangsamoro Government’s Facebook page extended their congratulations to Bito.

“Your exceptional victory is a testament that every Bangsamoro can perform and compete in the international sphere. Your devotion, mastery, and spiritual connection are truly commendable. May this award inspire the younger Bangsamoro generation,” it wrote.
