Sixteen distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Jeddah arrived safely at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 in Pasay City on August 11, 2025, at 9:15 p.m., aboard Saudi Airlines flight SV870.
They were warmly welcomed by Migrant Workers Assistant Secretary Maria Regina Angela Galias, alongside the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) team, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) OIC-Chief Noemi Tañag, and members of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) Medical Team.
As part of their immediate support, OWWA will provide free temporary shelter or hotel accommodation for up to three days and complimentary plane tickets to their home provinces. The repatriated workers also received medical care and financial assistance upon arrival to help them recover and reintegrate into their communities.
The repatriation was made possible through the joint efforts of the DMW–MWO and OWWA Jeddah, in coordination with the Philippine Consulate General. Officials said the mission fulfills President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure the welfare and safety of OFWs.
