1,000 online slots open this weekend for OFW contract verification in Dubai

DUBAI – Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Dubai can take advantage of 1,000 online slots this weekend for employment contract verification and Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) issuance, the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) Dubai announced.

The opening coincides with the launch of seven straight days of access to the Online Contract Verification System (OECVS), designed to give OFWs more flexibility in securing essential requirements without disrupting their work schedules. “Now you can enjoy your weekends with friends over coffee or meals — and still get your requirements done hassle-free,” the advisory noted.

Expanding convenience for OFWs

The OECVS, which was rolled out in July 2025 as part of a pilot program, allows OFWs to submit documents, pay fees, complete eKYC verification, and track application status entirely online via dmw.dataflowgroup.com. This eliminates the need for in-person visits to MWO-Dubai, though walk-in processing remains available for urgent cases.

Applications typically take around three working days for verification. In one recent case, an OFW confirmed that their contract was approved in six days and their OEC issued within seven more days via the DMW portal. The system’s capacity is capped at 200 applications per weekday, but with this weekend’s expansion, MWO is making a rare move to accommodate more applicants at once.

Resubmit option now available

Earlier frustrations about rejected applications were also addressed in mid-August, when MWO introduced a “resubmit flow” feature. This allows applicants to re-upload missing or corrected documents without having to start over or pay additional fees. However, compliance must be completed within 15 days, or the application will be tagged as “Non-Compliant.”

Important reminders

MWO cautioned that future weekend slots may be limited, urging OFWs to take advantage of this special 1,000-slot opening. Verified contracts are required before an OEC can be issued, a document that ensures smooth airport processing and protects workers under Philippine labor laws.

Applications can be made directly through dmw.dataflowgroup.com, with additional guidelines available on mwodubai.org.
